Position Summary

Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on various manufacturing equipment and utility systems safely and competently. This role requires strong refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and machine control skills. Responsibilities include maintaining records, completing paperwork following regulatory requirements, improving equipment/system maintenance, and developing predictive and preventative maintenance programs. The technician will determine parts needed for repairs and submit requisitions. Primary equipment includes freeze dryers, walk-in coolers, freezers, cooling towers, chillers, and vacuum pumps. Prior experience with all equipment is helpful but not required.

Hours: 1st shift, 7:00am – 3:30pm. Overtime, weekends, holidays, and “on-call” may be required.

Position Responsibilities

• Safely troubleshoot and repair equipment as assigned to meet production schedules while maintaining validated states.
• Perform preventive maintenance per schedule and instructions.
• Identify and procure parts for repairs, maintaining validated states.
• Document repairs and preventive maintenance in the CMMS and logbooks.
• Work within site SOPs and cGMPs compliance standards.

Education and Experience

• Required: Two years’ experience in refrigeration/mechanical fields
• Preferred: Associate degree in refrigeration/HVAC with 2 years of industrial experience

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Operate hand and power tools safely and competently
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to interact positively with internal and external teams
• Strong organizational skills
• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
• Interpret blueprints and schematics
• Valid driver’s license may be required
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and CMMS
• Flexible hours including weekends, holidays, overtime, and “on-call”
• Ability to distinguish colors related to mechanical and electrical work

Physical Position Requirements

Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., work in temperature variations, noisy and unconditioned areas. Prolonged standing, crouching, sitting, walking, and climbing are part of daily routines.
