About the Role:

As a member of the property maintenance team, the Maintenance Technician contributes to the hotel's commitment to high-quality guest experience and teamwork by safely and efficiently maintaining the property. From overseeing plumbing and electrical to HVAC and pool maintenance, you assist with general facilities upkeep. Your day will begin with a well-laid-out schedule likely including preventative maintenance and grounds work, which will be adjusted to accommodate work orders reported by your fellow hotel teammates and guests. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the highest level of quality work to ensure minimal disruption to guests. Embracing technology and technological systems to improve property maintenance is essential.

The position has a specific focus on mid-day, evening, and weekend shifts.


About You:

You enjoy working independently while understanding the importance of team collaboration to provide high-level customer service. You thrive in completing orderly preventative maintenance tasks and are ready to assist a team member or guest in distress, showcasing your problem-solving skills and 'MacGyver'-like handyman abilities. You have basic experience in construction trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC (including PTAC cleaning), painting, caulking, and similar skills. Your problem-solving skills, attention to detail, technical knowledge, and friendly demeanor are your superpowers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance duties in guest rooms and all hotel areas
  • Respond to reported problems and issues, performing general repairs
  • Assist with maintaining the pool area according to company and brand standards, as well as applicable state and local codes
  • Maintain external property appearance, including lawn, landscaping, and parking lot
  • Perform building and equipment preventative maintenance duties
  • Assist team members and other departments to contribute to operational efficiency
  • Ensure all maintenance areas and equipment are clean, organized, and secured
  • Maintain basic knowledge of fire safety equipment, refrigeration, pool, and elevator operation
  • Operate common power and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership
