Job summary

Fairstead is hiring a Maintenance Technician to maintain the day-to-day operations and safeguard the property’s physical assets.

You will inspect buildings and equipment, perform preventative maintenance, fix electrical or systems issues, support safety compliance, and help prepare vacated units, while participating in on-call rotations and keeping an organized tool and supply inventory.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills to perform minor repairs and fixtures.
• Knowledge of electricity to diagnose problems and carry out minor repairs.
• General maintenance skills across building systems.
• Verbal and written communication skills for effective delivery of information.
• Prior experience as a Service Technician or in a similar role; HVAC/CMRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings and equipment regularly for needed repairs and improvements.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on the property as needed.
• Implement maintenance policies and standards to prevent misuse of property appliances.
• Ensure that properties are safe and avoid any danger to occupants, visitors, and workers.
• Clean and prepare vacated buildings and rooms for new occupants to move in.
• Check electrical wiring for accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Check safety systems and devices for operational effectiveness monthly.
• Participate in the on-call rotation. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance problems outside normal hours.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment.
