Silgan Plastics Corporation in Seymour, IN seeks a diligent associate to uphold product safety and quality across manufacturing duties. You will evaluate conditions, follow written safety procedures, and help maintain a clean, orderly work area while following schedules.

Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance on machines, diagnosing equipment issues, and assisting with routine cleaning and sorting tasks as part of a team or independently, in compliance with all safety rules

• Evaluates, and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines.
• Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance, extend asset life, and prevent costly breakdowns.
• Know and apply written safety procedures.
• Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts.
• Complete projects/assignments safely and efficiently.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
• Ability to follow schedules and work independently or as part of a team.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose equipment issues.
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, and sorting duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Know and apply written safety procedures. Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts. Complete projects/assignments safely and efficiently. Evaluates and takes appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment with established standards and guidelines. Effectively use verbal and written communications. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Ability to follow schedules and work independently or as part of a team Mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose equipment issues Perform sweeping, cleaning, and sorting duties as necessary. Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
