Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill our Maintenance Technician position at our two low-income locations: 5400 Hollywood, located in the Hollywood area, and Lucena on Court, near the Historic Filipino Town. These properties are approximately 4 miles apart, and mileage between them will be reimbursed.

Maintenance Technician Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for completing work orders, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the property, performing preventative maintenance tasks, and responding promptly to emergency calls. The ideal candidate can handle a variety of tasks simultaneously while delivering a high level of customer service.

Maintenance Technician Job Duties:

90% dedicated to basic maintenance duties and 10% to cleaning tasks.

  • Address work orders related to electrical repairs, plumbing issues, basic HVAC maintenance, appliance repairs, and exterior maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure the property’s interior and exterior are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to residents and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain a detail-oriented approach to all duties.
  • Respond proactively to maintenance needs and emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: $25.00 to $26.00 per hour
  • On-call for after-hours emergencies

  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience or apartment maintenance experience.
  • Experience with on-call and weekend service.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience in electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, etc.
  • Experience as a janitor/porter is preferred.
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets.
  • Own transportation is required (federal mileage rates apply).
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance; motor vehicle report review is part of the hiring process.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening; a conviction does not necessarily disqualify.
