Job summary

AMERI-CANS is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Fort Wayne, IN location. You will perform preventive maintenance on restroom trailers, inspect systems, and troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, and HVAC components to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires hands-on repair experience, a valid driver's license, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities. This is a full-time position with benefits and opportunities for growth as we expand services in the region.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance technician or RV mechanic experience.
• Strong plumbing systems knowledge (water pumps, hoses, fittings).
• Experience with residential plumbing supply and drain systems.
• Ability to install and troubleshoot water tanks and water systems.
• Strong AC/DC electrical skills.
• Experience with HVAC systems (basic troubleshooting/repair).
• Valid driver's license; background check required.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on restroom trailers (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, structural).
• Install, uninstall, and troubleshoot water and waste systems, pumps, and related components.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues (clogs, leaks, pumps, tanks).
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems: outlets, breakers, wiring, lighting, batteries, generators.
• Service HVAC systems (A/C, heating, ventilation) for comfort and operation.
• Monitor freshwater and waste tank levels and perform pumping and cleaning.
• General maintenance tasks: carpentry, painting, welding, flooring, fixture repairs.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory; respond to emergency repair calls.
• Ensure units are event-ready, clean, and in good condition before deployment.
