Job summary

Spectrum Human Services & Affiliate Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the PM shift at our Highland Park campus to help keep facilities safe and functional for youth.

Responsibilities include routine and preventative maintenance on buildings, utility systems, and mechanical equipment; basic plumbing and heating repairs; and supporting campus operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in building/mechanical maintenance/repair or equivalent experience.
• Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Background check and medical clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe spaces: routine and preventative maintenance on campus buildings, utility systems, and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, heating fixtures and essential facility systems.
• Support campus function by collaborating with maintenance supervisors to minimize disruptions to daily programming.
• Ensure operational excellence by keeping facilities aligned with safety and quality standards.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain Safe Spaces: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on campus buildings, utility systems, and mechanical equipment to ensure a safe, secure environment for youth.
• Troubleshoot & Repair: Service, repair, and install plumbing, heating fixtures, and essential facility systems.
• Support Campus Function: Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to complete repairs efficiently and minimize disruptions to daily youth programming.
• Ensure Operational Excellence: Keep all physical facility standards aligned with safety, security, and quality requirements.

What You Bring

• Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED; 2+ years of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance/repair (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Driver’s License: Valid, unrestricted State of Michigan Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Clearances: Ability to successfully complete a background check (free of felony convictions, DHS Central Registry clearance) and medical clearance (physical, TB test, and drug screen).
• Communication: Must have a reliable home phone or cell phone.
