Job summary

Consultants At Greystone Inc in Lincoln, RI is seeking a skilled technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery and plant systems. The role involves diagnosing problems, wiring electrical components, and servicing plumbing and hydraulic equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or technical certification, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and good communication abilities. Overtime may be required; safety procedures must be followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade/technical certification; some related experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills; knowledge of plumbing, pump repair, welding and carpentry.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to read and interpret safety rules and work process instructions.
• Ability to follow instructions, accept corrections, contribute ideas, and work well as part of a team.
• Overtime may be required to meet department goals.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and tests machinery and equipment; detects and diagnoses problems; dismantles, cleans, and completes repairs as needed; collaborates with vendors.
• Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repairs valves and gauges.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, transformers and wiring; maintains electrical components.
• Installs, programs and/or repairs automated machinery and equipment.
• Adheres to safety guidelines including lock out/tag out procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Nature of Work

Performs work installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, and plant systems.

Essential Job Functions

• Inspects and tests machinery and equipment; works with staff to detect and diagnose problems; dismantles, cleans, and completes repairs on machinery/equipment as needed; and, works with vendors to troubleshoot issues as needed.


• Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulars and related equipment.


• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.


• Installs, programs and/or repairs automated machinery and equipment.


• Performs work safely and follows lock out/tag out procedures and other safety guidelines at all times.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Preparation Needed

• Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma, trade or technical school certification; some related experience.


• Strong mechanical and electrical skills; and, knowledge of plumbing, pump repair, welding and carpentry (dependent on area assigned).


• Good verbal and written communication skills; and, the ability to read and interpret documentation such as safety rules, work process instructions, memos, etc.


• Ability to follow instruction, accept corrections, contribute ideas, and work well as part of a team.


• May be required to work overtime as needed to meet department goals.
