Job summary

MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a business segment of Element Solutions Inc., is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our production equipment and facility systems running safely and efficiently in Chicago, IL. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, read blueprints, and support continuous improvement efforts.

The role requires 5–7 years of maintenance experience, safety focus, and flexibility for overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, maintenance manuals, and technical procedures.
• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and facility systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and adjust parameters as needed.
• Read blueprints and interpret technical documents; follow work orders.
• Operate hand and power tools, electrical test equipment, and material handling devices.
• Identify issues and communicate concerns to maintenance team and management.
• Support equipment installation, startup, and commissioning following safety rules.
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment following 5S principles.
