Job summary

Wild Dunes Vacation Rentals in Isle of Palms, SC, seeks an onsite Maintenance Technician to handle guest-facing repairs and routine maintenance across guestrooms and common areas. You will troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks while keeping safety and cleanliness at the forefront.

You will support a collaborative engineering team, respond quickly to guest requests, and maintain thorough logs. A valid driver’s license and flexibility (weekends/holidays) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
• Hospitality or vacation-rental knowledge a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot and work independently or in a team.

Join us for this incredible opportunity with Wild Dunes Vacation Rentals, located in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, as a Maintenance Technician. This onsite role supports the daily maintenance needs of Wild Dunes Vacation Rentals, requiring hands‑on problem‑solving, strong property knowledge, and a commitment to delivering a consistent guest experience throughout the resort. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Enjoy working as part of a team to assist other engineering personnel with routine repairs and preventive maintenance. Earnestly respond to guest requests to ensure their personal comfort. Take pride in our house and perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas while monitoring and maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas. Enthusiastically prepare for daily work assignments and review priorities and special projects. Responsible for maintaining appropriate time management. Hold the highest standards for proper use of all equipment. Responsibility for ensuring safety and security of the property, our guests, and fellow associates.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work Order Management: Respond to and document associate and guest work order requests promptly.
• General Maintenance: Conduct maintenance in guest units, common areas, and equipment, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with maintenance associates to support property upkeep and resolve issues efficiently.
• Property Walkthroughs: Perform regular safety and maintenance inspections, addressing repairs as needed.
• Checklists and Logs: Complete maintenance checklists and maintain logs.
• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and repairs on building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Task Documentation: Maintain clear records of tasks on daily timesheets and work orders.
• Communication: Update management promptly regarding incomplete tasks or unsafe conditions.
• Smile and greet every guest especially when they’re in proximity.
• Provide quick and efficient service.
• Remember guest names and use them often in interactions.
• Offer assistance and provide options to guests.
• Emphasize creating a positive guest experience and building lasting connections by thanking guests and inviting them back.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Capable of lifting to 70 lbs. without assistance.
• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach consistently.
• Work safely on ladders and roofs at heights up to 30 feet.
• Work in confined spaces and endure temperature fluctuations indoors and outdoors.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, or related experience preferred; hospitality or vacation‑rental experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license.
• Working knowledge of basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repair practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues, prioritize work orders, and complete assignments independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and guest‑service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, homeowners, team members, and leaders.
• Ability to use basic tools and maintenance equipment safely and follow established safety procedures.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, based on business needs.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
