Job description

Position Overview

Join our team at Hueston Woods Lodge & Conference Center as a Maintenance Technician on the night shift. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and responding promptly to maintenance requests. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and comfort of our property for guests and staff alike.

Schedule & Compensation

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS

Starting Rate is $15 - $17/hour depending on experience

Prerequisites

• General knowledge in plumbing, electricity, HVAC and carpentry
• General knowledge of tools used in above tasks
• General knowledge of power tools, lawn tools, and equipment
• Must be able to use paints

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and effective manner during the evening shift
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Assist with set‑ups and repairs related to events and conference activities
• Collaborate with other departments to support operations as needed
• Maintain the grounds around lodge and cabins

Requirements

• Prior experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a related field preferred
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Handle general room calls (TVs, lights, plumbing, heating/cooling, etc.)
• Test and maintain pools
• Assist guests and visitors on a daily basis
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently during the evening shift
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and operate maintenance equipment
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Other Requirements

• A valid driver’s license
• Must be available to work evening shift, weekends and holidays
• Must be able to repeatedly and continuously bend, reach, lift, push, and twist
