Base pay range

$45,000.00/yr - $81,000.00/yr

Description

As a Maintenance Technician for the Publix Dairy Plant, you’ll maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve the performance of a wide array of equipment. Our dairy plants process 100 million gallons of milk annually and produce various products including ice cream, bottled water, beverages, yogurt, and cottage cheese. Our Maintenance Technicians are essential for keeping this equipment operational and ensuring product quality across our three locations in Lakeland, Deerfield Beach, and Lawrenceville.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve equipment and facilities using preventive and condition-based maintenance techniques.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Create requisitions for parts and supplies.
• Fabricate components to improve safety, sanitation, and performance.
• Perform welding (stick, TIG, sanitary TIG, MIG).
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and microprocessor-controlled devices.
• Perform minor plumbing and building repairs.
• Operate forklifts and other powered lifts.
• Train team members and perform housekeeping duties.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years old.
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Knowledge of hand tools.
• Willingness to advance skills and complete aptitude tests.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, able to lift over 50 lbs., and work well in teams.
• Commitment to safety and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and process instrumentation systems.
• Experience maintaining PLCs, VFDs, and distribution systems.
• Training or certification in industrial maintenance or millwright work.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with water treatment systems and backflow prevention.
• Previous food plant experience and flexible shift availability.

Year-End Bonus

Employees receive a Holiday Bonus based on years of service, ranging from 15 hours’ pay in the first year to two weeks’ pay in subsequent years.
