Job summary

Madison Communities on-site maintenance team in Charlotte, NC seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep apartments safe, functional, and move-in ready. You will perform painting, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and routine repairs with a hands-on approach.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of maintenance experience; HVAC, EPA, or CPO certifications are a plus. Excellent teamwork and strong service mindset are essential to our resident‑focused culture.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of maintenance experience (multifamily preferred).
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Certifications (HVAC, EPA, CPO) are a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Providing outstanding customer service to residents and teammates.
• Handling day-to-day maintenance including painting, plumbing, electrical fixtures, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Responding quickly and professionally to service requests.
• Ensuring apartments are safe, functional, and move-in ready.
• Working with vendors on specialized projects like landscaping and asphalt repairs.
• Keeping tools, equipment, and work areas safe and organized.
