Volunteers of America Texas is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our The Oaks - Dallas, TX location. The role involves electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks to maintain property units, with a company vehicle for assignments.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent with relevant maintenance experience or a vocational certificate, and a valid Texas driver’s license. We offer reliable hours and opportunities for growth within VOAs programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of relevant maintenance experience (or a certificate from a maintenance tradeschool)
• Valid Texas Driver’s License, clean MVR, and ability to be insured

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs to electrical systems inside/outside units (breakers, outlets, switches, disposals, lighting)
• Repair structural elements (carpentry, doors, exterior repairs)
• Interior/exterior painting and surface finishing
• Plumbing repairs (faucets, supply lines, toilets)
• Complete forms and work orders in a timely, professional manner
• Drive to and from job sites in a safe, professional, timely manner; company vehicle provided for maintenance tasks

Pay: $23.00 hourly

Day-to-Day

• Performs minor repairs to the electrical systems both inside and outside of units (e.g., breakers, outlets, switches, disposals, changing out ceiling fans, interior and exterior lighting systems, etc.)
• Performs repairs related to the structure to include: carpentry- door repairs and replacements; exterior repairs; some tile work, interior repairs (holes in walls, door handle replacements)
• Performs interior and exterior painting to include preparations of drywall and siding and staining and finishing of exterior and interior wood surfaces.
• Performs repairs related to plumbing to include: changing out faucets, supply lines, toilets, etc.
• Completes all forms, work orders and related paper work in a timely and professional manner.
• Works independently by driving unassisted to and from job assignment sites in a safe, professional and timely manner. Company vehicle will be provided for maintenance related issues for different property locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A high school diploma or equivalent plus one year of relevant experience working in the maintenance field OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus a certificate from a maintenance trade/vocational school OR equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Valid Texas Drivers’ License, clear MVR, and ability to be insured.
