Job summary

Boise Cascade Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair and service rip saw equipment in a busy plant environment. You will use welding, pneumatic tools and precision instruments to keep production lines running safely and efficiently.

The role requires reading blueprints/schematics, performing diagnostics across heights, and adhering to all PPE and OSHA training protocols. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience diagnosing mechanical problems on industrial equipment.
• Proficient with welding and cutting tools.
• Ability to use micrometers, calipers, levels and squares.
• Strong communication and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Repairing, replacing and diagnosing mechanical issues on rip saw equipment.
• Operate pneumatic tools and welding equipment.
• Read blueprints and schematics for repairs and assembly.
• Perform diagnostics from floor to overhead heights.
• Complete work orders and inventory related to saw room items.
• Wear PPE and complete OSHA trainings.

Responsibilities/ Qualifications:

• Performs a wide range of repairing/replacing and diagnosing of mechanical problems associated with equipment related to rip saw.


• Utilizes a variety of pneumatic and handheld tools.


• Engages in welding, utilizing cutting torch and brazes.


• Ability to read blueprints and schematics, simple and complicated drawings.


• Performs diagnostic and repair from floor to overhead height.


• Performs benchwork for troubleshooting and assembly and dissembling.


• Utilizes micrometers, calipers, levels, and squares.


• Operates shop equipment such as lathes, key setters,grinders, and impact wrenches.


• Build Rip saw arbors according to the production schedule.


• Completes work orders, PM sheets, and inventory lists related to saw room items.


• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to improve the capabilities of the rip saw and arbors.


• Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed.


• Must work safely while wearing all required PPE and complete monthly OSHA trainings.


• Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling.


• Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.


• Intermediate maintenance skills required.


• Ability to communicate effectively to co-workers.

Pay based on experience Maintenance Level I, II, and III $28.91- 32.58available.

$1.00 shift differential for night shift hours worked.
