Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Nights – Injection - Continental B Shift)
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Responsible for: injection molding presses & auxiliary equipment
Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire, non-exempt
Starting Pay: $37.07/hr, with pay bumps to $38.40/hr after 3 months and $39.72/hr after 12 months, plus a $1/hr shift premium
Shift: nights 6p-6:30a, 2 on 2 off, 3 on 3 off
Responsibilities:
- Make all necessary repairs and preventive maintenance checks for injection molding equipment
- Keep equipment clean and dust free
- Assist Automation Tech with needed repairs
- Apply 5 “S” Standards to injection molding, robotic assembly, and robotic paint spray/application equipment
- Install and maintain a wide variety of electrical, electronic transmission testing, and control equipment, up to maximum voltage used in the plant and on injection equipment
- Diagnose and solve electrical or electronic issues with switchboards, test boards, motors, starters, switches, circuits, and controls
- Install conduit and wiring, piping for pneumatic or hydraulic systems
- Build from wiring diagrams and sketches, large single-phase and three-phase equipment
- Diagnose and repair breakdowns to electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment in the Injection Department
- Weld and fabricate modifications as needed
- Keep up with changes in the National Electrical Code
- Operate various power tools including grinders, drill presses, saws-all
- Responsible for rigging and moving machinery and ensuring proper installation
- Ensure all equipment is properly lubricated and maintained
- Troubleshoot and diagnose repairs on all injection molding, robotic assembly, and robotic paint spray/application equipment
- Assist maintenance technicians in other groups as required
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience maintaining high-tonnage injection molding presses and related equipment in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics, pneumatics, automated equipment, robotics, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, switches, motors, gears, drives, etc.
- Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens S7), PCs, and robotics (Fanuc, ABB, Kuka)
- Physically capable of climbing over equipment, under conveyors, molds, and material handling systems
- Capable of lifting over 50 lbs
