Optical Cable Corporation, Roanoke, VA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the production team on the night shift. You will set up, maintain, and repair industrial machinery to keep equipment running safely and with minimal downtime.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience; MT1 certification is desirable. You will read drawings, diagnose problems, perform preventive maintenance, and document work.
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Training: Will train on day shift
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to support our production team by setting up, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery. This hands‑on position is essential to keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently. You will play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime and consistent product quality.
Safety is our top priority. You will follow all company protocols for safe work practices, including machine‑specific diagnostics and lockout/tagout procedures. Training will be provided for electrical work, hot work, and other specialized tasks. Proper PPE will be issued and must be worn at all times. Pre‑job safety meetings are required whenever work extends beyond normal routines.
This role involves work contracted by the U.S. government and/or other federal agencies, which requires that all personnel involved in such work are U.S. citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents. Thus, a qualified candidate for this position must be able to present valid documentation indicating that they are a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.

$18.75 – $33.64
Eligible night and weekend shifts receive an additional 10% shift differential.
The posted pay range reflects the established base salary or hourly wage range for this position. Individual compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, internal equity, and business needs. New hires are typically hired below the midpoint of the range. Eligible positions may receive applicable shift differentials, skill premiums, or other forms of additional compensation.
