Maintenance Technician Nights (2-2-3/ 7pm-7am)

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely troubleshooting and repair. The Technician performs troubleshooting and repair of all production equipment including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers. They also handle facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, water filtration systems, and general plant maintenance. The Technician collaborates with machine Operators, Supervisors, and other Maintenance staff to resolve mechanical issues during shifts. They propose solutions to complex problems to senior mechanics and management.

Essential Functions
  1. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  2. Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other machinery.
  3. Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment following Niagara’s processes.
  4. Maintain industrial control systems.
  5. Work independently and with team members to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  6. May substitute for production operators as needed.
  7. Create and report repairs, complete work orders, and document parts and materials used.
  8. Follow plant safety rules and use PPE as required.
  9. Maintain regular attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4 years of experience in maintenance or similar environment.
  • 4 years in the current position.
  • 4 years managing people/projects.

*Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.

  • Effective communication across departments.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Proficiency with shop tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Willingness to lead and train others.
  • Own toolbox and basic tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with high-speed bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Knowledge of VFDs, servo drives, rotary equipment, HVAC systems, and electrical schematics.
  • Fabrication skills (cutting, welding).
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems including 480VAC & 24VDC.
  • Experience with PLCs and communication systems.
