Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure optimal performance and reliability of manufacturing equipment at our Minnesota facility.

The role involves electrical and mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and strict adherence to safety and GMP standards. Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience (or 2 years with related technical training) and ability to read schematics are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years maintenance experience or 2 years with relevant technical training
• Proficient in single-phase electrical systems and motors
• Advanced knowledge of three-phase electrical distribution systems
• Able to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot control circuits
• Skilled with electrical testing instruments (continuity testers, amp meters, voltage testers)
• Strong mechanical aptitude with complex repairs and adjustments
• Able to interpret equipment and parts manuals and identify replacement parts
• Capable of preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems across plant equipment.
• Document all work completed in the daily shift report.
• Log parts usage and notify supervisors of low stock.
• Perform general building maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Repair single-phase and three-phase power distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment control wiring and electrical systems.
• Inspect equipment and take corrective actions within the scope of a Class B Technician.
• Follow safety procedures, GMP standards, and repair best practices.
• Execute assigned equipment repairs and preventive maintenance independently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

This role involves technical work requiring sound judgment within established practices and procedures, with supervisory support available for atypical situations

How you will make contributions that matter...

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems across plant equipment.
• Accurately document all work completed in the daily Individual Shift Report.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels by properly logging parts usage and notifying supervisors of low stock.
• Conduct general building maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Perform electrical repairs on single-phase and three-phase power distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment control wiring and electrical systems.
• Inspect equipment and independently perform corrective actions within the scope of a Class B Maintenance Technician.
• Adhere to safety procedures, GMP standards, and proper repair practices at all times.
• Execute assigned equipment repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) tasks independently.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have The Following Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience, or 2 years with relevant technical training specific to facility equipment.
• Proficient in single-phase electrical systems and motors.
• Advanced knowledge of three-phase electrical distribution systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and effectively troubleshoot control circuits.
• Proficient in the use of electrical testing instruments (e.g., continuity testers, amp meters, voltage testers).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience performing complex equipment repairs and adjustments.
• Ability to interpret and apply information from equipment and parts manuals.
• Capable of identifying parts requirements and communicating reorder needs.
• Skilled in performing and documenting preventive maintenance on both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues to prevent equipment failure and downtime.

Schedule

Ability to work 12-hour shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PMPay: $28.85 - $33.58 per hour.
