Job summary

Refresco is seeking a maintenance technician to join our fast-paced production plant. You will perform maintenance, repairs, and preventive tasks to ensure continuous operation and food safety compliance.

The role requires reading blueprints, adhering to GMPs, and maintaining a high level of safety. Weekend/overnight shifts may be required; overtime may be scheduled as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GMPs and food safety requirements.
• Ability to read and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
• Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GMPs and safety policies and wear PPE in warehouse or production areas.
• Maintain and repair equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and handle line changeovers.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic issues on equipment.

Pay Range: Starting at $36 per hour depending on experience
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
• Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
• Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic).
• Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
• Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
• Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
• Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
• Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.

Education and Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
• Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold). The environment is structured and supervised.

Travel Requirements:

• May be minimal travel required as needed for training.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual/Sensory: This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
• Coordination and Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise control of equipment.
• Mental Stress: There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands.
