Job summary

Refresco Brand is hiring a maintenance technician to support multiple shifts in a fast-paced production environment in Tampa, FL. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on packaging and processing equipment, troubleshoot complex systems, and ensure GMP compliance and food safety standards are upheld daily.

The role requires reading blueprints, operating with minimal supervision, and maintaining safety with PPE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Forklift certification required.
• Able to read machinery blueprints and parts manuals.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to health and safety policies, GMPs and wear PPE in warehouse/production areas.
• Perform repair and preventive maintenance; manage line changeovers.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain production equipment and glycol/RO/Chemical systems as needed.
• Document work orders and parts used; communicate shift-to-shift.
• Assist training of other maintenance personnel and collaborate with teams.

Pay Range: Starting at $36 per hour depending on experience

Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
• Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
• Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, &pneumatic).
• Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
• Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
• Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
• Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
• Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.

• Knowledge of GMPs.
• Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
• Must be able to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.

Education and Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
• Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold). The environment is structured and supervised.

Travel Requirements:

• May be minimal travel required as needed for training.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual/Sensory: This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time.
• Coordination and Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise control of equipment.
• Mental Stress: There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy, or similar demands.
