Job summary

SELIT North America, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair production and facility equipment, and to perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure product quality and safety.

You will document downtime, spare parts, and maintenance activities daily, and assist with equipment changeovers as needed. The role offers an air-conditioned work environment and opportunities for discretionary bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to operate basic to sophisticated hand tools and safety procedures.
  • Able to lift up to 60 pounds and stand for long shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, replace and/ or overhaul all mechanical and electrical components.
  • Perform and document routine preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Assist Operators with product changeovers to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Ensure manufacturing equipment is producing quality and safe products.
  • Adhere to safety processes to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and provide suggestions.
  • Lay-out, install, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical equipment such as motors, drives, and PLC systems.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing problems with all production and facility equipment. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician will perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure produced products are of the highest quality and safe. This role will require daily documentation pertaining to downtime, spare parts, and preventative maintenance performed. This role will also assist with equipment changeovers and production as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, replace and/ or overhaul all mechanical and electrical components
  • Perform and document routine preventative maintenance in a timely and efficient manner to minimize downtime
  • Assist Operators with product changeovers for assigned tasks to ensure minimal downtime
  • Ensure manufacturing equipment is producing quality and safe products
  • Adhere to safety processes to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Participate in continuous improvement process and provide suggestions
  • Lay-out, install, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of complicated electrical equipment such as motors, drives, and computer/PLC control systems

Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to operate basic to sophisticated hand tools and possess knowledge of safety procedures and practices
  • Fulfill physical requirements of the position including walking, standing, stooping and climbing
  • Able to lift a maximum of 60 pounds and stand for an eight-hour work shift
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours including weekends if necessary
  • Committed to quality, safety and communication- Excellent communication skills at a cross-functional level
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • Basic math skills required
  • Minimum 1-year experience in machine maintenance or trade school
