Job summary

Signode Industrial Group, LLC is seeking a maintenance technician for the 3rd shift in Florence, KY to keep production running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment while complying with safety programs and quality standards.

The role requires 1–3 years in industrial electrical/mechanical maintenance, knowledge of PLCs and drives, and the ability to read gauges and instruments. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; certifications preferred but not required.
• 1–3 years in industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to understand gauges, tools, and instruments related to product quality and repair.
• Working knowledge of electricity and troubleshooting electrical issues; PLCs/drives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in a timely, complete, and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain production machines and facility equipment.
• Check and inspect equipment during preventative maintenance; report findings.
• Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
• Identify and correct electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
• Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changes, and down time.
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Respond quickly to issues that may risk safety; rectify dangers.
• Maintain building safety and appearance including utilities, ventilation, housekeeping and plumbing.
• Communicate issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.

Shift: 3rd Shift

• 7:45pm to 8:00am. 12 hours shift. Rotative schedule M/T/S/S - W/T/F

The hourly wage for this position starts ranges from $27.70 - $35.00 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Summary

The primary purpose of the maintenance technician is to ensure production and operations are running safely at the most efficient level achievable, producing the highest possible production quality. Complies with applicable regulations and the department’s safety program.

Essential Functions

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in a timely, complete, and cost-effective manner.
• Perform duties to maintain production machines and other facility equipment.
• Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to management.
• Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
• Identifies and recommends corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
• Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
• Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
• Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
• Maintain building safety and appearance including utilities, ventilation, housekeeping and plumbing.
• Communicate existing and potential issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma/ GED preferred but not required. Certifications preferred but not required.

Experience

• 1-3 years of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in fast paced manufacturing environment. Any equivalent of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
• Ability to understand and interpret gauges, tools, and instruments relating to product quality and equipment repair
• Must have a good working knowledge of electricity and troubleshooting electrical issues.
• Knowledge and experience with PLCs, drives are preferred.
• Experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred; training will be provided.
