Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred in maintenance or instrument/electrical fields.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years mechanical or instrument/electrical experience required.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and mechanical/electrical capability.
  • Proficient in MS Office; able to operate basic software used for maintenance.
  • Able to ascend/descend stairs, lift 50 lbs, and wear PPE.
  • Ability to work well in a team and coordinate with vendors and staff.
  • Capable of operating mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs daily work in line with procedures and safety policies to maintain a safe environment.
  • Promotes 5S in the work area and surroundings.
  • Maintains plant equipment and tools in safe working order.
  • Works outdoors in all weather conditions as required.
  • Follows lock-out/tag-out, confined space, hot work permits and related safety policies.
  • Repairs and maintains plant equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, convey systems, and chillers.
  • Performs PM inspections and uses diagrams/drawings as needed.
  • Updates work orders and CMMS with completed tasks.
  • Keeps warehouse parts stocked and organized per supervisor directions.
  • Acts as a member of the emergency response team if required.

Description of Job Duties:
  • Completes daily work assignments in line with all company procedures and safety policies while maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Maintains and promotes 5S in assigned work area and on the grounds
  • Maintains maintenance equipment and tools in a safe working order
  • Safely perform work outdoors during all type of weather conditions
  • Follows lock-out/tag-out, confined spaced, hot work permits, and related safety policies
  • Repairs, replaces, and maintains all plant equipment in good working condition, equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, convey systems, chillers, etc.
  • Performs equipment inspections and preventative maintenance (PM) activities as per oral and written instructions.
  • Interpret single line diagrams, piping schematics, and mechanical drawings as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and dismantle defective equipment and install new or repair equipment and/or parts. Request parts to be purchased to complete repair to Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery throughout the plant.
  • Fabricates equipment as required.
  • Enter information on paper and/or electronic work order as required. Update CMMS or shared drive if directed to do so by Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager.
  • Stock warehouse parts inventory as directed by Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager. This includes reviewing of packing slips, physically relocating inventory to warehouse shelving and identifying parts that may need re-ordering.
  • Adheres to all quality policies and standards.
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned.
  • Member of the emergency response team, if required
Qualifications / Necessary Skills:
  • Maintenance or Instrument / Electrical Associates degree is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent with 2-years mechanical or instrument / electrical work experience required.
  • Must be able to perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity. Must display a strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs, lift 50lbs, stand on his/her feet for extended periods of time and be physically flexible including bending, rotating, and kneeling
  • Must be able to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as Level A suit, full face respirator, SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus), safety glasses, steel toed shoes, Tyvek, hearing protection and gloves.
  • Must have the ability to work with a team in resolving problems together with the ability to develop effective working relationships with vendors, contractors, co-workers, managers and well as any other internal personnel.
  • Capable of operating mobile equipment.
