Verdesian Brand in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Mechanic for a night shift (6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.). This role covers welding fabrication, equipment repair, and preventive maintenance on plant systems.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and maintenance experience in an industrial setting; strong teamwork, safety awareness, and the ability to read manuals/blueprints are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or better.
• Maintenance/Mechanic Experience in industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Welding, fabrication, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc. skills desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding fabrication including layout and repair of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on plant facilities, equipment, and machinery.
• Assemble, install and/or repair electrical on three phase and single phase circuitry.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Replace or repair defective equipment and parts.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them using blueprints and manuals.
• Inspect, operate, and test plant facilities and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding fabrication including layout and design, and repair of mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Must be proficient with MIG, TIG, Stick, cutting torches, grinders, drills, and working with metal, pipe, and flat iron
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and emergency/unscheduled repairs on plant facilities, equipment, and machinery including pumps, gearboxes, augers, grinders, mixers, conveyors, filling machines and sealers
• Assemble, install and/or repair electrical on three phase and single phase circuitry
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
• Replace or repair defective equipment and parts
• Perform minor building repair and upkeep
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
• Inspect, operate, and test plant facilities, equipment, and machinery
• Procure and maintain an optimum inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies adequately organized in storage
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Ability to be fit tested and don a mask
