Requirements

• BA/BS with three (3) or more years' experience, or four (4) or more years of relevant experience in lieu.
• Valid U.S. issued driver's license.
• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Compliance with OSHA and DoD guidelines and standards.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to differentiate colors.
• Experience in maintenance management, including records, repair, materials, and testing.
• Knowledge of DOD and DISA policy.
• Ability to write technical reports, business correspondence, and manuals.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with command line, Linux/Unix training or certification.
• Background and drug screening checks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with United States Prompt Diagnostic System (USPDS).
• Practical experience with Linux/Unix platforms and certifications.
• PDO experience, commercial network expertise, and AFTAC experience.
• Knowledge of intra-site and long-haul communications, including SATCOM, terrestrial, and wireless networks.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will support the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) in managing the United States Prompt Diagnostic System (USPDS), which is part of the NTNF mission to detect, identify, and report nuclear events.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Install, maintain, repair, test, and replace wiring and sensor systems following all safety standards.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on field equipment, sensors, and communication systems.
• Conduct calibration, analysis, and documentation of maintenance activities.
• Assist with intra-site and long-haul communications, including SATCOM, terrestrial, and wireless networks.

Physical Demands

Requires physical activity including lifting up to 70 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in confined spaces or on rooftops.
