Job summary

Carter Custom Millwork, a division of Carter Lumber, seeks an Assistant Maintenance Technician to keep our facility clean, safe, and fully functional. You will inspect machinery, perform repairs, and document maintenance to minimize downtime.

The role requires self-motivation, strong mechanical and tool knowledge, and the ability to work quickly and safely with limited supervision. Growth and team collaboration are encouraged within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a self-starter and able to work unsupervised.
• Knowledge and expertise in maintenance of machinery, electrical troubleshooting, welding.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and knowledge of tools.
• Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to work at a fast pace and successfully multi-task.
• Friendly, outgoing personality; Works well with others.
• Ability to carry 25-50lbs.
• Strong computer skills.
• Must be willing to assist and learn from senior tech.

Responsibilities

• Facility Maintenance: Ensure that all facilities, buildings and assets used by the company are maintained and repaired in a proper and cost-effective manner.
• Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for maintenance on all tools and machinery; inspects and documents maintenance.
• Safety: Adheres to safety requirements when operating tools and equipment; reports defects or safety issues.
