Job summary

Mission Linen Supply in Santa Barbara is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to repair, maintain, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment such as washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyors and boilers. The role includes preventive maintenance, welding, boiler chemistry, and safety responsibilities in-plant operations.

The candidate should have strong technical knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and be able to work with varied systems, with willingness to learn steam

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance engineering experience, with knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, welding, and boiler applications.
• Experience with mechanical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading repair manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for routine preventive maintenance on the plant machinery to keep systems running smoothly.
• Handle morning start-up and evening shutdown of equipment including boiler, air compressor, pumps, and valves.
• Maintain lint traps, shaker screen barrels, oil levels, grease fittings, and water levels.
• Perform general repairs on machinery and document maintenance per schedule.

Responsibilities

Mission Linen Supply is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, repairing, maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting industrial equipment such as washers, dryers, steam tunnels, conveyor systems, and boilers.

This position performs preventive maintenance that includes welding, boiler chemical testing and making necessary chemistry adjustments, resolving safety concerns, and preparing maintenance records. This in-plant position requires strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment, the ability to work with varied mechanical/electrical systems, and strong leadership skills. We're looking for knowledge of, or a willingness to learn, steam boiler, electrical, pneumatic, schematics, maintenance, welding, and plumbing work.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for routine preventive maintenance on the property to ensure plant machines continue to run smoothly
• Responsible for morning start-up and evening shutdown of equipment, including the boiler, air compressor, power, pumps, and valves
• Handles regular maintenance of lint traps, shaker screen barrels, oil levels, grease fittings, and water levels
• Responsible for completing all general and basic repairs on the machinery
• Follows the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule and documents the process
• Identifies and reports all other major repairs that need to be completed on the machinery

Compensation

• Starting pay: $20–$25/hour, based on education, experience, other qualifications, and location of assignment

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday through Friday

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance engineering experience, with specific knowledge of machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, welding, and boiler applications
• Experience with mechanical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and reading repair manuals and schematics
• Mission will provide additional training in Steam Boiler, Electrical, Pneumatic, Schematics, Maintenance, Welding, and Plumbing for candidates who need it

Physical Requirements

This role requires standing or moving through the plant during the workday. Maintenance tasks will require some stooping, pulling, pushing, and working in cramped areas. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
