Bear Real Estate Group is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician II to support Eva Manor Apartments in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The role handles complex maintenance tasks, performs diagnostics, and mentors Technician I staff across properties.

Responsibilities include leading turnovers, managing preventative maintenance, and assisting with capital projects. A strong background in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing is required, with a valid driver's license and own hand tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC and EPA 608 certifications strongly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of residential or facilities maintenance experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues.
• Must provide and maintain personal hand tools and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, electrical work, and appliance repairs.
• Diagnose and repair moderate-to-complex issues in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Lead preventative maintenance programs across building systems.
• Oversee unit turnovers with high quality and timeliness.
• Provide mentorship to Technician I staff.
• Assist in managing projects such as system upgrades or renovations.
• Assist in collecting bids for repairs up to $5,000 and advise Property Manager.
• Inspect units and building systems thoroughly.
• Maintain inspection, maintenance, and safety logs.
• Track supplies, tools, and equipment usage.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergencies.
• Travel between properties for advanced support.
• Provide cross-property support as an advanced maintenance resource.

Summary:

Bear Real Estate Group is seeking reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician II to support our exceptional property, Eva Manor Apartments located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The Maintenance Technician II is role responsible for handling more complex maintenance tasks, advanced diagnostics, and specialized repairs. This role provides leadership support by mentoring Technician I staff, overseeing turnovers, and managing preventative maintenance programs. The Technician II works with greater independence and serves as a technical resource within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all routine maintenance tasks typical of a Maintenance Technician I , including painting, minor plumbing and electrical work, basic appliance repairs, minor HVAC repairs, turnovers, and maintaining property cleanliness and curb appeal.
• Diagnose and repair moderate-to-complex issues in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Perform and oversee preventative maintenance programs across building systems.
• Lead and complete detailed unit turnovers, ensuring high quality and timeliness.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Technician I staff.
• Assist in managing larger projects such as system upgrades, renovations, or capital improvements.
• Participate in collecting bids for repairs and projects up to $5,000; provide recommendations to the Property Manager.
• Conduct and document thorough inspections of units and building systems.
• Ensure logs for inspections, preventative maintenance, and safety systems are accurate including but not limited to snow removal logs, light inspections, elevator inspections, lift station logs, fire systems inspections, etc.
• Track supplies, tools, and equipment usage.
• Participate in on-call rotations for emergency and high-priority service calls.
• Travel between properties for advanced support and project work.
• Maintain professionalism with residents, vendors, and team members.
• Provide cross-property support as an advanced maintenance resource.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA 608) strongly preferred.
• 3–5+ years of residential or facilities maintenance experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Experience training and mentoring junior staff.
• Must provide and maintain personal hand tools required to perform job duties.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Demands And Work Environment:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Occasionally required to sit and work in confined spaces.
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle tools and equipment.
• Frequently required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.
• Regular use of ladders and power tools.
• May work in elevated or precarious positions.
