Job summary

Dot Foods is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to maintain and repair the facility, equipment, and grounds, performing preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments while minimizing production disruption. You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC systems, read schematics, order parts, and use Maintscape to log work.

The role requires 50 lb lifting, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work Friday through Monday, with

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to access all facility areas and lift 50 lb with good vision and hearing.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with 120V/277V single phase and 480V three phase electricity; AC/DC control circuits.
  • Able to read and understand drawings and schematics.
  • Computer literate and good interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team; safety-focused.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair the facility and building systems, including light fabrication.

  • Troubleshoot warehouse equipment using diagnostics and manuals.
  • Order parts and reference schematics; use Maintscape to log work and parts.
  • Maintain grounds, battery watering, and participate in audits.
  • Occasional travel for training; work with other technicians.

Job description

This position focuses primarily on maintaining and making repairs to the facility, equipment and grounds by utilizing a wide array of skills. Customer service and working effectively with other technicians are vital functions of this position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Maintain and make repairs to the facility and all building systems to include light fabrication work.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, lubrication and adjustments on all equipment on time with minimal disruption to production.
  • Use diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and repair all warehouse material handling and building equipment.
  • Refer to technical manuals, parts and schematic diagrams to obtain information needed to maintain equipment. Order parts from vendors as needed.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management software (Maintscape) to record work performed and labor hours/parts used for repairs and preventative maintenance items.
  • Evaluate and communicate spare parts needs and usage.
  • Plan and execute assigned projects.
  • Maintain the grounds including mowing, irrigation & snow removal.
  • Industrial battery watering, maintenance, testing and repair.
  • Membership of and participation with the site's emergency response team.
  • Participate in periodic internal and external audits.
  • Occasional travel for outside training or meetings.
  • Work with other technicians and perform duties as assigned.
YOU MUST HAVE
  • High school diploma or GED and valid driver's license required.
  • Physically able to access all areas of the facility for installation and repair of equipment and to lift and carry at least 50 lbs. Sufficient vision and hearing necessary to safely operate powered equipment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literate.
  • Commitment to perform duties in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Experience with 120V/277V single phase and 480V three phase electricity. Proficient working with AC/DC power & control circuits.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics.
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

At least one year demonstrated excellent performance as a Maintenance Technician I or two years' experience in a maintenance trade such as electrical, mechanical or HVAC.

ROLE SPECIFICS
  • Schedule: Friday - Monday 6:00am - 4:30pm
  • Temperature extremes from -10 degrees in the freezer to 100+ outside during the summer.
  • Work in situations where human error could result in serious financial loss or personal injury.
  • Extensive standing/walking on concrete floors and working at heights.
  • Subject to being in an on-call rotation and occasional holiday work.
