Job summary

Liquid Environmental Solutions Corporation – Jacksonville Plant is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to act as the senior technical maintenance resource for the facility. You will lead hands-on maintenance, troubleshoot and repair industrial wastewater pretreatment equipment, and coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective tasks to maximize reliability and uptime.

The role requires a minimum seven years in industrial maintenance, strong electrical/mechanical skills up to 480 VAC, CMMS

Qualifications

The Lead Maintenance Technician serves as the senior technical maintenance resource for the facility and provides hands‑on leadership in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of industrial wastewater pretreatment equipment and supporting utilities. This position coordinates daily maintenance activities, provides technical guidance and mentoring to maintenance technicians, and works closely with Operations and Management to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support regulatory compliance. The Lead Maintenance Technician is expected to independently diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment issues while promoting a safe and productive work environment.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide daily work direction and technical leadership to maintenance personnel without direct supervisory authority.
• Coordinate and prioritize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial wastewater pretreatment equipment including DAF systems, filter presses, pumps, mixers, agitators, conveyors, chemical feed systems, piping, tanks, valves, and associated utilities.
• Independently troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation, and process equipment failures.
• Assist operators with equipment operation, startup, shutdown, and autonomous maintenance activities as necessary.
• Use equipment manuals, drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and technical documentation to perform maintenance activities.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce recurring equipment failures.
• Support development and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Create, update, and close work orders within the CMMS and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Monitor maintenance trends and recommend reliability, safety, and performance improvements.
• Provide technical coaching, mentoring, and training support to maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers to support maintenance and capital improvement projects.
• Assist in managing maintenance inventory, spare parts, tools, and procurement requests.
• Perform fabrication, rigging, alignment, bearing replacement, seal replacement, piping modifications, and equipment rebuilds as required.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment including lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, pipe‑threading equipment, and various testing instruments.
• Identify and correct safety hazards and ensure compliance with company safety policies.
• Comply with LOTO, confined space, electrical safety, chemical handling, and other applicable safety procedures.
• Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Participate in on‑call support, overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum seven (7) years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or coordination of maintenance personnel.
• Strong working knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, piping systems, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
• Experience troubleshooting process equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to secure necessary parts and equipment necessary to complete activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Wastewater treatment, industrial pretreatment, chemical processing, or manufacturing experience.
• Troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with DAF systems, filter presses, chemical feed systems, and industrial pumping systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Project coordination and contractor management experience.
• OSHA 10‑hour or OSHA 30‑hour certification.
• Confined Space Entry and Lockout/Tagout training.
