Summary

The Maintenance Lead oversees equipment maintenance and repair, diagnosing, rebuilding, adjusting, performing preventative maintenance, and installing equipment to ensure continuous production with zero loss. This role supervises maintenance technicians, assigns tasks, and ensures timely, safe completion of jobs. The position reports to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Shift

3rd Shift - 8:30pm-5:00am

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Supervise maintenance technicians, assign tasks, and oversee Preventative Maintenance (PM) and work orders.
  2. Plan work schedules efficiently within time constraints.
  3. Order materials before jobs commence.
  4. Analyze recurring problems and develop solutions, including equipment design changes and task reallocation.
  5. Foster a team approach, assigning tasks based on technician capabilities.
  6. Report progress and critical issues to the Maintenance Superintendent.
  7. Maintain records of equipment performance.
  8. Assist other Lead Mechanics with complex issues.
  9. Create work orders for repairs.
  10. Report personnel issues and disciplinary problems to the Maintenance Manager.
  11. Maintain safety practices, including lockout/tagout, hot work permits, and confined space entry.
  12. Coach and train associates on responsibilities and rules.
  13. Adhere to safety standards and report unsafe conditions.
Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED; technical training or college preferred.

Experience Requirements
  1. At least 5 years in manufacturing maintenance, with experience in automation, compressed air systems, boilers, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  2. Proficiency in English, math, and analytical skills.
  3. Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs accurately.
  4. Own personal tools and operate hand and shop equipment.
  5. Knowledge of troubleshooting PLCs.
  6. Valid Driver's License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  7. Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

This active role involves troubleshooting, equipment movement, and exposure to wet, humid, and temperature-variable environments. Ability to lift 80 lbs., move throughout the plant, and wear protective gear is required.
