Recruiting Profile

Dal-Tile is seeking a Maintenance Technician IV to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of making adjustments to machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation.

Primary Objective

Perform complex mechanical and electrical duties in the installation, maintenance, repair, and distribution of electrical energy. Install, maintain, and replace electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing setting.

Major Functions and Scope

• Troubleshoot PLCs using handheld devices or laptops.
• Design and modify programs and software for PLCs and operator panels.
• Format hard drives and install operating systems and applications on computers.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment for energy generation, distribution, or utilization.
• Diagnose electrical system issues using blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform load calculations for wiring and electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of serial communication systems, VFDs, and process control instrumentation.
• Knowledge of servomotors and drive units.
• Identify productivity improvement ideas and present solutions professionally.
• Plan and implement process improvements.
• Utilize electrician’s tools and testing instruments.
• Lead and successfully complete projects, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; electrical code knowledge; journeyman license preferred.
• Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
• At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience and 2 years in electrical work; formal PLC training preferred.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Competencies

Ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot electrical systems and PLCs, pass an industrial maintenance exam with 80% or higher, understand procedures in English, and test motors and circuits with voltmeters and ammeters. Knowledge of LGV equipment is a plus.

Physical requirements include standing, using hands, reaching, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, sitting, climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, peripheral, and focused vision. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, temperature variations, and loud noise is possible.
