Job summary

Dal-Tile Distribution, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Technician IV to perform complex mechanical duties and a variety of electrical trade functions in a manufacturing setting.

You will install, maintain, and replace PLCs and electronic controllers, reading blueprints and diagnosing electrical faults to keep production running smoothly. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, with a sign-on bonus structure and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of electrical code; journeyman license preferred.
• Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
• 4+ years industrial maintenance experience; 2 years industrial electrical experience; PLC training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLCs using handheld device or laptop.
• Design and redesign PLC programs and operator panels.
• Install/maintain/repair equipment for generation, distribution or utilization of electrical energy.
• Read blueprints and diagnose electrical system faults.

Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Maintenance TechnicianIVto join our TEAM! As the Maintenance Technician we need someone who canmake adjustments tomachines and equipment for proper operation.

Primary Objective

Performs complex mechanical duties and a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or distribution of electrical energy. Installs, maintains and replaces electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment.

Major Function and Scope

• Trouble shoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller) usinghand helddevice or laptop.
• Design and redesign program and software (PLCs, operator panels,etc).
• Format hard drives and install to the computers (Computer Setup) and PC application
• Installs,maintainsor repairs equipment for the generation, distribution or utilization of electrical energy in a manufacturing environment.
• Locates and diagnosis trouble in electrical systems or equipment working fromblueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications.
• Works standard computations related to load requirements of wiring and/or electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of Serial port communication systems, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and process control instrumentation devices (thermocouples, pressure switches,etc).
• Knowledgeof Servomotors and drive units.
• Continuously reviewing their respective area for ideas and thoughts that will drive productivity and reduce costs within the organization and be able to professionally speak to their solution for improvement.
• Process improvement (Plan and submit process improvements and execute the plan)
• Uses a variety of electricians tools including measuring and testing instruments.

• Leads projects and completes them successfully, returning equipment to production operating safely and efficiently.
• Keeps work area safe,cleanand organized.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required

• High school diploma or equivalent experience. Knowledge of electrical code. Journeyman electrical license preferred.
• Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
• 4 or moreyears industrial maintenance experience and 2 years industrial electrical experience. Formal PCL training preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office)

Competencies

• Ability to read blueprints. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and PLCs. Ability to score 80% or better on the Industrial Maintenance exam. Ability to read and understand procedures in English. Ability to test motors and electrical circuits using a voltmeter and amp meter. In depth knowledge of LGV equipment and operation.

The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
