Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) seeks a Maintenance Technician I for the graveyard shift in Tooele, UT. This full-time role supports production by maintaining equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical and PLC systems.

You will operate power tools, assist in fabrication, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Overtime and travel to other sites may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift driving experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on equipment and support production operations.
• Evaluate equipment operation and determine actions for malfunctions or improvements.
• Manage plant utilities (chiller, air compressor, security system, fire protection).
• Complete preventive maintenance work orders and communicate data.
• Maintain machinery such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, and pumps.
• Troubleshoot issues and repair production and facilities equipment.
• Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our graveyard shift at one of our ISO plant operations in Tooele, UT.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs.
• Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed
• Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system & fire protection system.
• Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data.
• Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls, and pumps.
• Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
• Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
• Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
• Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools and other metal working equipment
• Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
• Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).
• As directed execute projects on an as needed basis.
• Applies continuous improvement tools and processes to every aspect of the role.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience with forklift driving required

Working Conditions:

• Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing Job includes but is not limited to exposure to the following.
  • Temperatures exposed to both Ambient/outside
  • Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points
  • Noise of industrial machinery
  • Fumes from solvent, forklift exhaust and tractor-trailers
  • Pinch point on moving mechanical parts
  • Heavy equipment operation including forklift and yard tractor
• Typically, 40 hour per week with overtime as required. 2nd shift
• Fast paced 24/7 operation

Travel Requirement:

• Overnight travel up to 10%, this will include travel to other facilities and to trainings
