Koch Fertilizer in Dodge City, Kansas is launching a Maintenance Technician Intern program for Summer 2027. Responsibilities

• Work with maintenance team to support equipment reliability and plant performance through preventive maintenance.
• Assist with installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of rotating equipment such as pumps and compressors.
• Support inspection and maintenance of fixed equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, boilers, and heaters.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations and reliability engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve reliability.
• Gain hands-on experience on projects representative of full-time maintenance work.

Koch Fertilizer in Dodge City, Kansas is seeking a Maintenance Technician Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2027. This is a great opportunity to learn about an industrial work environment without any previous experience and see the foundation of a successful career in the maintenance space. What You Will Do

• Work alongside our maintenance team to support equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and plant performance through predictive and preventive maintenance activities.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of rotating equipment, including pumps and compressor systems.
• Support the inspection and maintenance of fixed equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, boilers, furnaces, and heaters.
• Partner with maintenance, operations teams, and reliability engineers to troubleshoot equipment issues and improve reliability across the facility.
• Gain hands‑on experience working on projects that are representative of the work our full‑time maintenance professionals perform.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb straight ladders. Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
• Wearing industrial chemical plant uniforms and PPE as required.
• Confined space entry may be required.
• Ability to work in an industrial environment which includes availability for shift work and emergency call outs, while working indoors and outdoors.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of a relevant degree, certificate, or workforce training program
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
• Willing and able to meet all physical requirements

What Will Put You Ahead

• Currently enrolled in programs such as Welding, Industrial Maintenance, Auto/diesel Tech, Mechanical Maintenance, Advanced Manufacturing, etc.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
• Previous armed forces experience as an aircraft mechanic, aircraft structural maintenance specialist, or other relevant military experience
• Experience maintaining or repairing rotating or fixed equipment.
