Job summary

American Plastics is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Kingman, AZ location. This role reports to the Maintenance Manager and focuses on electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting, as well as injection-molding equipment maintenance and safety procedures.

You will perform daily PM checks, participate in continuous improvement, and coordinate with suppliers to resolve root causes. Shift pattern features 12-hour rotations with a 3-day weekend every other week.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Eligible to work in the United States of America.
• Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen & Background Check.
• Must be able to work a 12-Hour Shift.
• Prior Maintenance Technician experience required (injection molding experience a plus).
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Must demonstrate good judgment and decision-making ability.
• Must possess interpersonal skills and be able to communicate on all levels.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, forklift experience or willing to learn.
• Has basic ability in welding, brazing, soldering, refrigeration repair, machine shop training, fabrication in plastic, electronic repair, and/or mechanical engine repair, transmission repair, robotics.

Responsibilities

• Electrical: troubleshoot and read electrical prints.
• Hydraulics: troubleshoot and debug hydraulic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
• Pneumatics: troubleshoot and debug pneumatic circuits, read machine schematics and repair.
• Maintain injection-molding machine general maintenance, troubleshooting, debugging and repair.
• Execute lock out/tag out procedures as required on all Injection and related equipment.
• Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions to prevent downtime with preventative, predictive or continuous improvement ideas.
• Work with equipment suppliers to determine root cause of equipment failures and implement a permanent solution.
• Maintain Plant Facility and associated equipment.
• Perform daily checks of all injection molding equipment as outlined on the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Owns and maintains the required basic set of tools needed to perform the essential duties.
