We are looking for an individual with experience in plastic injection molding maintenance to work with the engineering and maintenance departments to repair, develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods to join our 3rd shift maintenance team. The technicians will troubleshoot and perform repairs on hydraulic and electric machines, robots, and secondary equipment as needed. Troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently with minimal direction are essential. Responsibilities include:

  • Repair and maintain all plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.
  • Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Understand robot programming and make necessary adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot press and robot issues, collaborating with Process Technicians as needed.
  • Maintain records in compliance with quality procedures and equipment logs, properly documenting activities.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and update PM logbooks.
  • Follow safety standards and procedures according to OSHA and ANSI regulations.
  • Complete repairs on hydraulic systems, HVAC, conveyors, and pneumatic circuits.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, including wiring and re-wiring.
  • Develop and manufacture poke-yoke/alarm systems where applicable.
  • Repair machinery and control systems, including sensors, servo controls, power supplies, VFDs, I/O cards, relays, HMI, load cells, etc.
  • Read and understand PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting and minor program modifications.
  • Identify maintenance concerns and assist in resolving issues.
  • Assist with new product launches.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; degree a plus.
  • 3-5 years' experience troubleshooting injection molding and secondary equipment.
  • Experience with robotics and programmable controls, including troubleshooting and modifying programs.
  • Industrial electrical knowledge or experience.
  • Experience working on plant machinery, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC is a plus.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings is desired.
  • Capability in EOAT design and fabrication is a plus.
  • Proficiency in valve gate design and installation is a plus.
  • Willingness to be certified on forklift (sit-down and stand-up) and scissor lift.
  • Willingness to stay current with technology through continuous education.
  • Excellent communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 40 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, sit, and walk up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to remain stationary 50% to 100% of the time.
  • Ability to ascend/descend forklifts, trailers, steps, ladders, etc.
  • No aversion to heights.
