Job summary

Agropur in Hull, Iowa is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and breakdown maintenance on processing and packaging equipment. You will keep the plant running, comply with OSHA and internal safety rules, and support preventive maintenance programs while assisting with machine set ups and rebuilds.

You should have a High School diploma, or equivalent, plus technical training in boiler, welding, electrical or HVAC maintenance; at least two years of manufacturing maintenance

• Minimum two years of maintenance/repair experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up machinery for scheduled production runs and assist with repairs or upgrades.

How your role contributes to that mission:

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician in Hull, Iowa.

The Maintenance Technician performs routine and break down maintenance on processing and packaging equipment and is responsible for keeping the plant running and in compliance with all rules and regulations by using safe methods of equipment repair/upkeep. The Maintenance Technician performs repairs as needed by the department, troubleshoots processes, manages and administers the preventive maintenance program, and assists with machine set ups and rebuilds as needed.

• Efficiently perform regular and preventative maintenance related to the plant, equipment, and grounds in compliance with standard operating procedures, good manufacturing practices, and safety policies as enforced by OSHA.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment during the production process as needed.
• Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Effectively perform and assist in repair or updating and installation of equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting of equipment, including both electrical and mechanical systems.
• Complete and update work orders using in-house systems.
• Complete and maintain routine and preventive records and logs.
• Works closely with production to minimize downtime while maintaining quality.
• Perform buildings and grounds maintenance/up-keep as needed; including snow removal, changing light bulbs and filters, etc.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all plant area processes.
• Accurately read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
• Effectively perform electrical wiring (switches, outlets, starter, motor leads, etc.).
• Effectively communicate with crew from previous shift and with the crew of the following shift.

• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

• Minimum two (2) years of maintenance/repair experience in a manufacturing environment .
