Summary:

The Maintenance Technician performs the preventive and reactive maintenance duties for the manufacturing operation of the plant. Priorities include the execution of PM schedules and the repair of any equipment to maintain maximum production rates. This position generally requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as required, and fulfill on-call duties for repairs.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Practice proper PPE compliance, maintain a safe working environment
• Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts, or injuries to the Maintenance Manager or the Plant Manager
• Practice proper forklift operation
• Maintain facility housekeeping
• Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment that is not operating properly
• Ensure that all equipment is kept in a proper and safe working condition
• Direct and ensure that all scheduled preventive maintenance duties are completed in a timely manner
• Communicate with all plant and support staff
• Understand and practice PLP core values

Job Skills:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

• Advanced industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills, including troubleshooting
• Understanding of PLP's manufacturing process, including troubleshooting

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Continued education certifications,

Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience as a line operator or similar training/experience
• Plastic pipe extrusion and/or CNC machine
• Previous maintenance experience in the manufacturing industry
