3A Recruiting LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a California injection molding operation. The role centers on hands-on maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure consistent product quality.

The technician will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance on hydraulic and thermal systems, and collaborate with process engineers to optimize machine performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a plastic injection molding environment.
• Hands-on repairs and preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with multiple brands of injection molding machines.
• Engineering degree is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Machine Maintenance: Independently perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on all components of plastic injection molding machines.
• Routine Tasks: Check hydraulic oil, replace check rings, screws, barrels, heater bands and thermocouples.
• Auxiliary Equipment: Maintain dryers, water systems, robots, and pumps.
• Troubleshooting & Collaboration: Work with process engineers to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Lean/Continous Improvement: Participate in downtime reduction and efficiency projects.
• Electrical & PLC: Read schematics, replace sensors/relays, troubleshoot control panels.

Family owned and operated since 1990, the company has been manufacturing & delivering quality products to our customers for over 30 years. We are expert injection molders of plastic for custom-made designs. The company capabilities range from high-precision medical molding to large projects utilizing structural foam injection molding. We custom mold parts across a wide range of industries, including medical, electronic, consumer, aviation, and automotive.

We're seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on problem‑solver with a strong background in both corrective and preventive maintenance. This role is critical to ensuring the continuous and efficient operation

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Maintenance: Independently perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on all components of plastic injection molding machines. This includes both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Routine Tasks: Conduct routine maintenance activities, such as: Checking and changing hydraulic oil. Inspecting and replacing check rings, screws, and barrels. Testing and replacing heater bands and thermocouples.
• Auxiliary Equipment: Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot a wide range of auxiliary equipment, including: Material dryers Thermolators Water systems Robots Mule pumps
• Troubleshooting & Collaboration: Work closely with process engineers and production technicians to diagnose and resolve machine problems. Use a systematic approach to identify the root cause of issues and implement effective solutions.
• Lean/Continous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and increasing machine efficiency.

JOB INFORMATION

• Starting Salary: $60K per year
• Workweek: Monday-Friday 8am – 4pm
• Criminal Background Check: Yes, applicants must be able to pass a Mexican and/or US CBC before departure from place of employment, arranged by the recruitment company.

• English Level Requirement: Preferred, but not obligatory.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician in a plastic injection molding environment.
• Hands‑on Skills: Proven ability to independently handle a variety of maintenance tasks on both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Machine Variety: Experience maintaining and troubleshooting multiple brands of injection molding machines is required. Our facility includes Haitians, Toyos, Engels, Sumitomos, and Tederics. Do not need experience with all, but do need experience with more than one of these.
