Qualifications

As a Maintenance Technician III at Houston, Texas, US, you will be responsible for maintaining process knowledge and performing all operations in compliance with applicable regulations and standard operating procedures.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  1. Monitoring daily activities in the department and updating your supervisor on safety, equipment, or other issues.
  2. Training and assigning work to lower-level technicians.
  3. Coordinating activities for preventive maintenance of equipment.
  4. Maintaining maintenance and repair logs.
  5. Locating and diagnosing failures, replacing defective components, and troubleshooting using various tools and documentation.
  6. Using hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
  7. Redesigning systems for existing equipment as needed.
  8. Estimating labor and equipment costs and preparing requisitions.
  9. Moving/loading products with a forklift.
  10. Working with equipment that uses hazardous chemicals, requiring SCBA in certain situations.
  11. Adhering strictly to safety requirements.
  12. Filling in for other technicians during vacations, including working night and weekend shifts.
What you'll bring to Alcon:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English fluently
  • 2 Years of relevant experience
Additional Details:
  • Work hours: C Shift (10 hours): Saturday - Tuesday, 4:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Travel Requirements: 0 - 5%
