Job summary

NVR’s Prince George, VA plant is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the team on 2nd shift (3:30pm–2:00am, M–F). You will inspect, repair, and maintain complex electrical systems and multi-axis automated machinery in a manufacturing setting.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, are proficient with electrical schematics, and adhere to strict safety standards. Compensation is $35.90 per hour with strong benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience as an industrial maintenance technician.
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to work in a strong safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain machinery and equipment in a manufacturing plant.
  • Identify and resolve equipment safety hazards and perform safety repairs.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the plant.
  • Replace, overhaul, or fabricate components including wiring, relays, PLCs, motors and controls.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs: diagnose, isolate faults and execute repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Assist in planning and installation of facility upgrades including wiring and distribution equipment.
  • Operate and maintain 24VDC and higher voltage equipment and distribution panels.
  • Apply knowledge of motor controllers, VFDs, sensors, and motion control in maintenance of automated machines.
  • Provide training and guidance to other Maintenance Technicians.

NVR's Manufacturing Plant in Prince George, VA is looking to add a team member to our Maintenance team. While you will be the "go to" person for installing/fixing electrical issues you will also be expected to perform non-electrical maintenance work.   • 2nd Shift work hours are 3:30pm - 2:00am (M-F)
  • Pay rate for this position is $35.90 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work independently to inspect and maintain machinery and equipment in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Identify and resolve equipment safety hazards and perform safety repairs as directed.
  • Conduct appropriate preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the plant.
  • Replace, overhaul, or fabricate broken and damaged components as needed, to include: wiring, relays, PLC's, switches, electric motors, user interfaces, digital & analog inputs/outputs, positioning devices, and controls.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs: diagnose malfunctioning systems, isolate faults, determine correction actions, and organize & carryout repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes and Lockout/Tagout procedures, in order to execute repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist in the planning, development, and installation of facility upgrades and repairs including wiring, conduit, and electrical distribution equipment.
  • Operate and maintain various electrical and electronic equipment including 24VDC (and lower) control circuitry and 120/208/240/480VAC equipment and distribution panels IAW electrical code.
  • Apply a working knowledge of motor controllers, VFD's, sensors, and motion control devices to the maintenance of multi-axis automated machines.
  • Perform miscellaneous maintenance duties, as assigned.
  • Provide training and guidance to other Maintenance Technicians.
