Qualifications

  • HS or Vo-Tech graduate with 5+ years related experience or training.
  • Certification in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or related discipline.
  • Reliable self-starter with good attendance.
  • Proficient in basic computer use and new system adoption.
  • Proficient in maintenance management system.
  • Safe operation of standard shop equipment.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement, six sigma or lean manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics and computer programming.
  • Working knowledge of equipment calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Keep Production, HVAC, facility equipment and infrastructure in good working order.
  • Detect and correct errors before the machine or products are damaged.
  • Operate equipment as required and perform tear downs, rebuilds, and preventive maintenance.
  • Test machines after repair to ensure proper operation.
  • Assist in training Maintenance Technician I, II, and Automation Technician.
  • Work a flexible schedule including overtime based on production demands.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and wear PPE.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety and Quality policies and communicate them to others.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN III

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Keep Production, HVAC, facility equipment and infrastructure in good working order.
  • Detect and correct errors before the machine, or the products it produces, are damaged.
  • Be able to effectively operate equipment as required.
  • May be required to take the equipment apart to repair or replace the necessary parts.
  • Expected to have electrical, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics and computer programming to repair sophisticated equipment.
  • Once a repair is made, test the machine to ensure that it is running correctly and smoothly.
  • Perform tear downs, rebuilds and preventive maintenance.
  • Participate in development and training maintenance technician I employees.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including overtime, as needed based on production demands
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to and communicate to others the Health, Safety and Quality policies, including use of PPE.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities & Skills for our SQF Certified Sites:

  • Have a basic understanding of the cGMPs and Good Hygiene Personnel Practices
  • Notify SQF Practitioner and/or Supervisor of any repairs or adjustments that are required.
  • Perform Basic Sanitation Functions
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, and or Regulatory Requirements / standards as prioritized by the Company, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Notify SQF Practitioner/Quality Manager or any other Management personnel of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues.
  • Identify problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the raw material, processes, quality system, or safety system, by performing Production/Quality Checks as assigned.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system. Be able to execute and follow the HOLD SOP.
  • Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Employee follows all Food Fraud/food Defense Policies while on company property.
  • Thorough understanding of all Company policies, including GMP’s and safety policies, HACCP & SQF.

Safety and Cleanliness

  • Adhere to safety policies.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Wear company issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as uniforms, gloves, hairnets.

Are You?

  • A High School or Vo-Tech School graduate with 5+ years related experience or training.
  • Completed certification in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or other equipment related discipline.
  • Reliable self-starter with good attendance record.
  • Proficient in basic computer use with the ability to learn and use new systems quickly & efficiently.
  • Proficient in maintenance management system.
  • Safely operate and use standard shop equipment.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement, six sigma or lean manufacturing projects.
  • Working knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics and electronics and computer programming.
  • Working knowledge of equipment and machinery calibration.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge and or previous experience in blow molding, injection molding or extrusion molding.
  • Experience with processing or troubleshooting of plastics manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with hands on work with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics and computer programming.

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills- ability to work well with all levels in the organization.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor.
  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend information provided.
  • Ability to develop and train Maintenance Technician I, II and Automation Technician.
