Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL seeks a senior maintenance technician to perform advanced technical support within the maintenance department and to train lower-level technicians on complex tasks. You will ensure asset reliability and contribute to safety and GMP compliance across the site.

The role requires strong maintenance expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to lead root-cause analyses while following AbbVie’s code of conduct and site standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 10+ yrs experience or certificate with 5+ yrs, or associate degree with 3+ yrs in maintenance.
• CMRT certification or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge and ability to use advanced maintenance tools (machine tools, diagnostics, predictive tools).
• Intermediate MS Windows skills.

Independently perform Senior level technical support within the maintenance department. Trains lower-level Technicians on more advanced tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assists in root cause investigation and reliability centered maintenance analysis
• Capable of training others on tasks.
• Is proficient in multiple skilled trade disciplines and creates or edits maintenance job plans
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows)
• Fully proficient in their core function, performing advanced level tasks
• Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization
• Supports continuous improvement projects and safety initiatives within the maintenance organization and/or the site
• Understands and follows all safety and GMP regulations
• Assist cross functional teams outside of the maintenance organization

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 10+ yrs. Experience or Relevant Certificate with 5+ yrs. experience or Associates technical degree with 3+ yrs. Experience, or proficient in two or more skilled maintenance functions.
• CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or equivalent accreditation desired
• Knowledge and ability to use advanced tools (i.e. machine tools, diagnostic tools, predictive tools)
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows)
