Job description

Performs maintenance related tasks for the upkeep of the entire facility. Ensures continued production operations by completing regular, preventive maintenance. Must have demonstrated advanced mechanical skills, advanced electrical skills, including controls and PLCs. Must have a strong commitment to OSHA safety standards and follows company safety policies, procedures and protocols while carrying out facility maintenance work.

Career Description:
  • Must have extensive mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic experience.
  • Must have extensive electrical knowledge.
  • Must have good controls troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to program various brands of drives or have the knowledge to learn various brands and types.
  • Able to troubleshoot PLCs; able to connect to PLCs and have a good knowledge of ladder logic. Able to upload and download programs, and make changes to those programs.
  • Must be able to read electrical prints.
  • Must demonstrate basic conduit and wiring skills.
  • Performs lockout/tagout procedures, according to OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Works as a cooperative team member while performing all duties and independently as needed.
  • Follows directions from leads, supervisors, and managers.
  • Able to follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Willing to learn and use Maintenance Management systems.
  • Able to read blueprints.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of controls and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Able to perform basic stick and wire feed welding.
  • Must learn the basic functions of all plant equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and proper PPE use.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit; handle objects, tools, controls; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must have normal color vision.
Work Environment:
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and outdoors.
  • Exposed to wet/humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme cold and heat, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Work environment noise level is usually very loud.
