Shift: 1st Shift, 6 AM - 2:30 PM

Are you a curious, hands-on problem solver who loves digging into complex systems to find root causes? As an Industrial Maintenance Technician at Avery Dennison, you will play a critical role in maintaining facility uptime and equipment reliability. Joining our collaborative 1st Shift team, you will perform planned, predictive, and emergency breakdown repairs on mechanical and electrical manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose failures and repair industrial machinery, including 3-phase electrical controls, PLC systems, DC drives, motors, pneumatic tools, and conveyors.

Predictive & Preventative Maintenance: Execute strict PM schedules, perform equipment calibrations, and inspect circuits and wiring for safety and efficiency.

Continuous Improvement: Partner with engineers and production teams to optimize machinery, reduce downtime, and eliminate safety risks.

Documentation & Safety: Order replacement parts, maintain repair logs, adhere to OSHA standards, and foster a clean, safe shop environment

Experience & Education: 3+ years of multi-craft (electrical & mechanical) industrial maintenance experience, OR a Trade School Certification / Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance

Technical & Electrical Mastery: Hands-on experience with 3-phase power, PLC systems, relay logic, motor controls, electrical conduit installation, and testing devices (ammeters, meggers, gauges)

Mechanical & Facility Skills: Proficient in mechanical tool repair, pneumatics, basic plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and general facility maintenance

Core Competencies: Exceptional diagnostic agility, mechanical aptitude, schematic reading, computer literacy, effective communication, and willingness to cross-train

Physical & Availability: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, with flexibility to work short-notice overtime as production requires

Plant utility systems maintenance & operations

Industrial machine repair/reliability techniques

Skills required for machine tool functions

Ability to work from prints/technical drawing

3-phase & control power & basic input & output electrical devices.

(Electrical) Knowledge of relay logic, DC drives and PLC systems.

(Electrical) Working knowledge of methods and procedures used in performing evaluations on all electrical apparatus using ammeters, meggers (high voltage resistance test device), temperature gauges etc.

Understanding of technical & non-technical documents related to design & operational characteristics of machine mechanical and electrical systems.
