Job summary

Sephora is seeking a Maintenance Technician III for our Avon, IN facility. You will inspect, monitor and maintain the distribution center equipment and building systems, performing major mechanical and electrical repairs under supervision.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLC logic, MHE, HVAC, and ongoing preventive maintenance; OSHA rules and lock-out/tag-out procedures familiarity is expected. A relevant degree or substantial experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree preferred; 2 years maintenance in facilities/distribution/manufacturing or 4 years experience.
• 6+ months PLC logic experience including uploading/downloading PLCs and related electronics.
• Lock-out/Tag-out procedures exposure and OSHA regulations experience.
• Welding/fabrication experience welcomed; certifications preferred (CFM, Electrical, HVAC, forklift).
• Extensive mechanical and/or electrical maintenance and repair experience.

Summary

The primary function of the Maintenance Technician III is to inspect, monitor and maintain the facility structure, equipment and surrounding building grounds and perform major mechanical and advanced electrical repairs on standard warehousing equipment under the direction of the Maintenance/Facilities Manager. This position works with local service providers, inspectors, property asset managers and other Technicians in caring for the overall functional performance of the building and equipment.

Essential Functions

• Accurately complete Preventive Maintenance tasks on motorized material handling equipment, (MHE) conveyor belts and building HVAC systems.
• Assess, perform, and properly document necessary equipment and facility repairs and adjustments.
• Competently complete complex mechanical and electrical equipment and facility repairs and upgrades.
• Conduct required OSHA and state-mandated training pertaining to maintenance and sanitation activities.
• Comply with all safety laws, all of SEPHORA's safety policies and report violations and potential violations to management.
• Maintain flexible work schedule and adhere to any designated shift and overtime as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient in the utilization of various test and metering equipment.
• Knowledge of in-depth maintenance practices for MHE, conveyors, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic equipment.
• Knowledge of and experience in repairing and maintaining HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of and experience in standard maintenance practices (i.e., lubrication, adjustments, set-up, calibration, etc.)
• Ability to operate standard hand/power tools and shop equipment in a proficient and safe manner.
• Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency in preventive/predictive maintenance practices.

Working Conditions

• Moderate but varying temperature and humidity in office and warehouse environments.
• Work is performed inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather (i.e., cold, heat, dust, pollen, odors, oil, fumes and noise.)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, sit, squat, lift and/or walk for duration of scheduled shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 32 feet when operating scissor lift and other lift equipment.
• Must have manual dexterity to safely and competently use power tools and other mechanical equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 6 months experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) logic principles, uploading and downloading PLCs, System Control Software (SCSs), scanners, electronics such as photo sensors, remote Input/Output modules (I/Os), servo drives, and variable frequency drives.
• Associate's Degree in Industrial or Maintenance Technology (preferred) AND 2 years of maintenance experience in a facilities, distribution and/or manufacturing environment OR at least 4 years of maintenance experience in a facilities, distribution and/or manufacturing environment.
• Automated Process Control or MHE maintenance experience.
• Previous experience using & enforcing Lock-out/Tag-out process, fall protection, and other OSHA regulations
• Extensive mechanical and/or electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
• Welding and/or fabrication experience.
• CFM, Electrical, HVAC, lift truck certifications/licenses preferred.

Compensation

Starting base pay is $34.50 - $36.90/hr. Certain work schedules may also be eligible for shift differential pay.

The target hourly pay for this position is $34.50- $36.90. The actual hourly pay offered depends on various factors, including starting wages competitive to the market for similar roles; relevant qualifications and experience; and other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position and/or geographic location. Certain work schedules may also be eligible for shift differential pay. This job will be posted for a minimum of 5 days.
