Job summary

Crane Co. is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to install, maintain, and repair plant infrastructure, utility systems, and production equipment with minimal supervision. The role includes electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, and building maintenance to support operations.

Minimum of 4+ years in industrial maintenance and 5+ years electrical work; EPA certification and a valid driver’s license required. You’ll work with outside services and may perform other duties as needed to ensure facility

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of related experience in industrial maintenance.
  • 5+ years of electrical work.
  • Training in electrical & mechanical trades.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to read schematics & blueprints for troubleshooting.
  • Completed hazardous waste management course; experienced in storage/shipping of hazardous waste.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; EPA Certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and install plant electrical systems and wiring.
  • Maintain plumbing systems to support plant/building operations.
  • Maintain plant equipment, pumps, and motors per specs.
  • Perform general facility maintenance incl. flooring, painting, HVAC, and building upkeep.
  • Handle hazardous materials storage/shipment and comply with regulations.
  • Coordinate with outside services and inspectors to ensure code compliance.
  • Record-keeping for parts, materials, and maintenance activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician III will install, maintain, and repair plant infrastructure, utility systems, and production equipment with little or no supervision, including performing electrical work such as troubleshooting, repairing, and installing industrial electrical systems. The following responsibilities are typical of what this position may be required to perform, however they are not all inclusive.

Essential Functions

Works with outside services, inspectors, government officials and the like to ensure compliance with necessary codes and laws, as well as to maintain proper service levels.

Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring to provide power and lighting for all plant and building operations.

Installs, maintains, and repairs all required plumbing systems to support plant and building operations.

Installs, maintains, and repairs plant equipment, pumps, and motors to meet manufacturer’s specifications and plant standards.

Performs general facility maintenance to include flooring, sheet rock, painting, boiler and air conditioning systems, and general interior building maintenance.

Performs general exterior maintenance to include building upkeep and repairs, parking lot maintenance, and lawn and landscaping upkeep.

General record keeping, filing, and ordering of materials, parts and supplies to maintain operation needs.

May be required to do other duties such as delivery and pick up of tools and equipment, furniture assembly and moving, and the like.

Works with hazardous materials such as paints and solvents to include storage and shipment.

May be required to specialize in areas such as HVAC systems, fire alarm, security and phone systems.

Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: 4 or more years of related experience in industrial maintenance.

5 or more years of electrical work.

Knowledge: Training in the electrical & mechanical trades.

Knowledgeable of the NFPA 70: National Electrical Code.

Skills/Abilities: Must be able to interpret and demonstrate proficiency using schematics & blue prints for trouble shooting equipment.

Must have completed a hazardous waste management course and have experience in storage and shipping of hazardous waste.

Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent required.

EPA Certification.

Eligibility Requirement: Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

AS Degree preferred

2 years of type II HVAC experience

Working Conditions
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
  • Standing: 75% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Sitting: 25% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 70 pounds
  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 70 pounds
  • Mental/Visual: Use of tools and maintenance equipment
  • Workspace (line, cube, etc): throughout facility
