Job summary

Avera St Mary's Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Technician to operate, install, service, and maintain complex mechanical and electrical systems across the facility. The role focuses on water systems, HVAC, generators, and hospital infrastructure, with a schedule that includes on-site day shifts and on-call weekend rotation.

The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of mechanical/electrical experience, boiler operation competency, and a high school diploma or equivalent; vocational training and boiler

Qualifications

• 1-3 years prior experience with mechanical systems, boiler operation, plumbing, electrical and computer systems.
• High School or GED required; trade or vocational training preferred.
• Boiler Operator licensing preferred by Licensing Board.

Responsibilities

• Installs, services, maintains and repairs the Reverse Osmosis Water Systems.
• Installs, services, maintains and repairs mechanical equipment, systems and utilities, heating and cooling systems, emergency electrical generator systems, domestic hot water systems, computerized HVAC control systems, pneumatic tubes, beds, pumps, operating tables, showers.
• Constructs, installs and repairs equipment and furnishings as requested.
• Performs preventive maintenance procedures on assigned mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
• Documents essential information and unusual conditions regarding the various equipment and systems.
• Assists with other plant operations duties as requested.

A Brief Overview

What You Will Do

Required Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• Drivers License - Licensing Board
• 1-3 years prior experience with mechanical systems, boiler operation, plumbing, electrical and computer systems

Preferred Education, License/Certification, Or Work Experience

• High School or GED Equivalent plus trade or vocational school
• Boiler Operator - Licensing Board
